I just about got bogged down in an airplane at Hilliard today. The airport manager’s definition of a dry grass runway is something entirely different than mine. I learned two things though, aborted takeoffs are your friend, and maintaining obstacle clearance speed has a little more pucker factor when there’s actually an obstacle.
